On His Knees by Adira August

Greetings book lovers! Today is launch day for Adira August’s new book, On His Knees! Read on for the blurb, cover, and excerpt!

Sometimes it’s the cop who needs to hit the floor…

As a homicide cop, every blood-soaked crime scene settled in my bones and snaked around my spine. There was only one way to exorcise the images from my soul …
Inside the club, I stopped to scan the room. He was here, Camden Snow. A Norse sex god in the guise of unpretentious youth. Only his ice-blue eyes gave evidence of the Dom who took whomever he wished, whatever way he wanted, with a look and a nod. Merciless.
Cam found me watching him and fixed me with his arctic gaze. This time, I didn’t walk away. He cocked an eyebrow. Well?
The last thing I needed was mercy.
I dropped to my knees.

I found him tonight, as always, already aware of me – waiting for me to find him. Surrounded by men and a few women. Gently smiling.

This time, I didn’t look away.

Cam stopped smiling. His eyes narrowed and slid down my pecs and abs like a strong warm palm. I felt myself opening to him, right there, half-blocking the way of people coming in behind me. My body turning more fully toward him, my arms falling loosely, palms up.

His minions noticed his attention had lasered in on me. Cam’s chin came up, his head back, his gaze not challenging, but direct. You know my terms.

A frisson of fear spiked adrenaline through my body. My balls drew up, but my cock rolled over – I could still walk past him.

We opened the door with a pry bar. Another bedroom. A single closet. A messy bed. Huge pictures on the wall, like rock band posters …

Cam relaxed into the curve of a horseshoe sofa, arms stretched along the back. Legs extended and crossed at the ankle. A relentless patience I was helpless to contend with.

… but these were pictures of screaming faces and ripped open bodies. He’d slept here; his victims’ torment brought him peace.

The club’s sounds subsided as those nearby became aware of the dynamic in play between Cam and myself. Anticipating. Hoping. Knowing he did what he wanted, where he wanted. In private or public. Merciless.

He tilted his head. Well?

The closet door squeaked as I pulled it open –

The last thing I needed was mercy.

I dropped to my knees.

Pendulum by L.C. Davis

Today I’m thrilled to be hosting LC Davis for his hot book, Pendulum.  It looks like a hot book and LC is doing a giveaway — watch for it at the bottom of the post!

Remus Black is still reeling from an abusive relationship that stripped him of everything — including his desire for love. Now all he wants is a fresh start halfway across the country, but his new roommate is determined to draw him into his strange world of chains, half-naked men and the infamous Lodge, a BDSM club as lavish as it is secretive.

When Remus is entered into the Lodge’s annual Alpha’s Pet contest against his will, he finds himself thrown to the Wolf Pack, the very type of men he needs to avoid. What’s worse is that the wolves immediately label him a submissive, something he swore he would never be again. Things get even stranger when “wolf” turns out to be far more literal than Remus ever imagined. When both the next-in-line for Alpha and his outcast brother claim Remus as their own, the entire pack is thrown into chaos.

Can Remus learn to embrace the power of submission and choose between the brothers before their rivalry tears the pack apart, or will the tension between them unravel his own sordid past?

“Oh yeah,” said Arthur, suddenly shifting gears. He flattened the crumpled flier out on the table and leaned over it. “I saw this on the way over, some guy was passing them out at the LGBT center. Total hottie, and I’m talking eight-pack, hotter-than-John Rals hot.

“Hotter than him?” I asked with feigned disbelief. The Hollywood heartthrob had never really been my type. “I don’t know about that.”

“Seriously,” he said earnestly. “Check it out.” He stabbed the paper with his finger right over the line that read “$10,000 Cash Prize.”

The figure certainly drew my attention. I read further and my interest dimmed.

The Lodge Presents the Annual Alpha’s Pet Contest

Only Hot Male Subs Ages 18-30 Need Apply

11 p.m. – -???

Winner receives access to the Alpha’s Dungeon, a photoshoot for Perfect Pets Magazine and the coveted diamond collar!

“What is this?” I asked warily. “It sounds like a cheesy reality show.”

“It’s this contest the Alphas throw every year,” he explained. “The flier is super cheesy, but the club is totally legit.”

“Who are the Alphas?” I asked, rereading the flier for a trace of an explanation.

“Oh, right. Texas,” he said, as if that explained anything. “The Lodge is this super-exclusive BDSM club and it’s run by this super-secretive society of doms that call themselves the Wolf Pack. The dance floor and a couple of play rooms are open to the public every weekend, but the dungeon is members only.”

“I see,” I lied. My confusion must have been evident because Arthur gave me a knowing grin.

“You can’t be such an innocent farm boy that you’ve never even heard of a dungeon.”

“No,” I said, tucking my hair behind my ear. It was an embarrassing tick I’d never been able to kick. “I know what BDSM is, it’s just that most of the gay clubs in Austin are a bit more mainstream.”

“Well, that sucks. And here I thought it was supposed to be the gay oasis down there. Whatever, you’ll adapt quick. This place is like the campus obsession. Even women are always trying to crash events.”

“BDSM isn’t really my thing,” I admitted, taking a sip from my latte.

“Let me guess, too many shades of bullshit turned you off?” he teased.

I laughed. “No, nothing like that. My ex was just domineering enough for a lifetime, that’s all.”

“Ohh,” he murmured, leaning back in his chair. “I get ya. Dom doesn’t stand for domineering asshole, though. Some guys just don’t know the difference.”

“No,” I agreed. “They don’t. It sounds like fun, though. I hope you win the prize.”

“Me?” he asked, pointing to his chest with wide eyes. “Oh, no. I’m not entering.” He patted his stomach. “This doesn’t oil up well. Besides, they’re looking for a straight-up sub and I’m a switch. I’m sure as hell gonna enjoy the free drinks and eye candy, though.”

I pursed my lips in an attempt to hide my amusement. “Well, maybe the dogs will have a bear cub night soon.”

“Wolves, actually,” he corrected with a wistful sigh. “Everything is pack-themed. It’s crazy hot. The whole place looks like a big cave.”

“That does sound like something,” I conceded. “So, what happens to the winner? Do you have to, you know, get tied up and stuff?”

He thought about it for a moment before shrugging. “I don’t know. You get a free membership, but every sub from here to northern Cali drools over the thought of getting some one-on-one time with the Alphas. I’m not sure anyone has ever tried to turn it down.”

“No,” I chuckled. “I’d imagine not.”

“Why?” His grin widened. “You thinking of entering after all?”

I shook my head vehemently and felt a blush creep into my cheeks. “No, just curious. Psych major, remember?”

“Sure,” he said in a disbelieving tone, standing from the table. “It’s a shame, you’d totally win if you entered. I’ll be right back, I’m gonna grab a drink. When I get back, you can tell me more about Texas.”

I smiled and nodded. That would give me some time to come up with my deflections. Then again, I was several thousand miles away from Austin. The chances of anything I told Arthur getting back to Jeff were close to nil.

The obnoxiously blue paper drew my eye and I glanced behind my shoulder to make sure I wasn’t being watched before I picked it up. Ten-thousand dollars. That was a massive sum. It wasn’t nearly what I owed the university, but it might be enough of a down payment to convince them to release my transcripts…

No. That was insanity. Even if I stood a chance in frosty hell at winning their cheesy contest—which I didn’t, no matter what Arthur thought—victory would only put me at the mercy of the Wolves. All signs pointed to them being exactly the type of men I had promised myself I would stay away from.

Love on Location by Lucy Felthouse

When Theo Samuels heads off to film on location in the village of Stoneydale, he’s expecting drama to take place on camera, not off. But when he meets gorgeous local lad, Eddie Henderson, he struggles to ignore his attraction. A relationship between the two of them would be utterly impractical, yet they’re drawn together nonetheless. Can they overcome the seemingly endless hurdles between them? Or is their fling destined to remain as just that?

Note: Love on Location has been previously released as part of the Brit Boys: On Boys boxed set.

Theodore Albert Samuels strode through Stoneydale Hall, barely giving the opulent furnishings, the priceless art or the stunning architecture a second glance. It belonged to him, after all. It was all his, his birthright, his inheritance.

He stopped suddenly. “Damn,” he muttered under his breath, hoping none of the film crew were taking any notice of him. Looking over, it appeared they were still absorbed in figuring out lighting, props and where the actors should stand to get the best shots. Good—he wasn’t due to have a camera pointed at him for another two days; plenty of time to get his head around his role. And it was imperative he did—it was his biggest and highest profile part to date. If he got this right, it could truly launch his career. Maybe even into Oscar-winning territory.

Taking several deep breaths, he pulled himself up to his full height of 6ft 4” and adopted a haughty, disinterested manner—channelling Mr Darcy, perhaps? Either the one from Pride and Prejudice or Bridget Jones’ Diary would do.

I am William Arthur Stoneydale. And this property is mine.

They’d pretty much been given the run of the house—the real owners having gone to the south of France for the summer—so Theo continued marching around, upstairs and down, pulling in everything he could from his surroundings to make him truly feel like lord of the manor.

Sighing, he ran a hand through his mop of black curls and headed out into the gardens. They were beautiful; all manicured lawns, parterres, rose gardens, arches and perfectly placed shrubs. Despite the perfection, Theo felt more comfortable here—probably because he’d always been an outdoorsy sort, ever since he was a child. Only the strict yet loving influences of his parents had coaxed him inside to do his homework, study for his exams and eventually land himself a place at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, better known as RADA.

The latter had been completely his choice—his mother and father had only wanted him to work hard and do his best. His career options had not been chosen by them, only supported.

Slumping onto a bench, Theo reminded himself of his parents’ wholehearted support and belief. That, and the fact he’d graduated from RADA with a first. Following that, he’d gone from strength to strength.

“Come on, Theo,” he muttered to himself. “You can do this. It’s just another role. A role you can play. Can be.”

His solo pep talk was interrupted by the sound of footsteps crunching on gravel. Then, from behind a line of expertly done topiary appeared a young man, perhaps a few years Theo’s junior.

“Oh,” the other man said, slowing as he spotted Theo, “sorry. Didn’t know anyone would be out here. You’re not filming, are you?” He looked around for cameras. “I was told it wouldn’t be for a few days, give me time to finish—”

Theo cut him off. “Relax, mate, there’s no filming today. Not anywhere. The crew are still setting things up.”

The other man heaved a sigh of relief. “Oh, that’s all right then. Gave me a fright, that did. I need to make sure everything’s spot on in the gardens before they get rolling. So, what’s the star of the show doing out here by himself, anyway?”

Theo gave a wry grin. “Oh, I don’t know about star.”

The man made a scoffing sound. Then, “That’s not what I’ve heard. I’m Eddie, by the way. Eddie Henderson.”

Theo took the hand that was offered, and shook it. “Theodore Samuels. Theo. Nice to meet you.”

“You too. So, you never answered my question. Everything all right?”

“Yeah, I suppose,” Theo said with a shrug. “Just nerves, I think. I’m struggling to get into the right mindset for this character. But I’ve got a couple of days—so I won’t panic just yet. Actually,” he paused as a bright idea illuminated his brain, “could I ask you something?”

Eddie took a seat beside Theo on the bench, and it was only when they were up close and personal that he realised just how handsome the younger man was. He had a lightly-muscled build, ginger hair, a riot of freckles on his face and forearms, blue-green eyes and a slight gap between his two front teeth. Cute and sexy all at once. Christ, he’s going to be trouble.
